Bithry Inlet picnic area will be closed from 2nd June 2025 until 6th June 2025 weather dependent, to allow for works to replace the barbeque and information shelter.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program from Monday 03 March 2025 to Monday 29 September 2025. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and/or foxes.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species and will take place in:
Signs will be placed at the entry to baiting locations. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands.
Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

The 4 southern beach access points at Gillards Campground are currently closed due to severe erosion. Successive large seas have removed large amounts of sand from the beach resulting in these access points being unusable.
Park users staying in sites 1 to 17 should use the beach access steps to the north instead which is easily accessible via a short walk.
Beach access steps for sites 19 to 39 currently remain open.

Last reviewed: Wed 28 May 2025, 2.10pm The National Parks and Wildlife Service is undertaking essential upgrade works in Mimosa Rocks National Park within the Picnic Point campground. The construction project includes replacing the fencing and bollards within the campground. Construction works will commence Tuesday 10th June 2025 and are expected to be completed by Monday 30th June 2025 – subject to weather and construction timelines. For public safety, the Picnic Point campground will be closed during this time.

The Packers Swamp/Nunnock Swamp/ Dragon Swamp sections of South East Forest National Park will be closed from 8am Monday 2nd June to 8am Saturday 6th June for a ground pest control operation.

This operation will involve ground shooting of deer and feral pigs during day time or night as required. It aims to reduce the significant impact invasive species have on native plants and animals including threatened species. Other pest animals, including foxes and wild dogs may be targeted if observed during the operation.

Bingi Dreaming track crosses openings to several Intermittently Closed and Open Coastal Lakes and Lagoons (ICOLLS). Openings of these lakes and lagoons are often unpredictable and can be quite dramatic. Please be aware that although lakes are usually only open for short periods (weeks), they can be impassable when open.
The Coila Lake opening is at the southern end of Bingi Dreaming track. Please check if this lake is open before you set out. If the opening is impassable, you won't be able to access the village of Tuross to complete the walk.
